A Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter! Ethan woke up early and instead of coming into our room to wake us up as he usually does, he looked downstairs and spotted his first egg and hurried right down to see what was inside!
He hunted high and low and had very little trouble finding his Easter Basket.
Quintan, on the other hand slept in and was rather oblivious to the fun and festivitiesbut was happy and excited to see the eggs all the same!

Ethan enjoyed all his candy so much he thought he'd try the chalk too:)

After church we headed up to the Poggio's for a great food, great company, and even more egg hunting!
This was serious business, hard hat and all:)
We had a wonderful day, playing, eating, hunting and spending time with family, but the hightlight for me came in a few simple words from Ethan.
Me: what did you talk about in nursery today?
Ethan: The big rock.
Me: Oh yeah, you talked about a rock?
Ethan: Yeah, they rolled it away. They rolled it away and Jesus wasn't there!!!
I loved hearing his excitement as he told me that the tomb was empty.
I am grateful to know that the tomb was empty on that third day and excited about what that means for me and my family. I know that jesus lives.

Happy Easter everyone!

Lucky 6

As I sit here and watch the snow accumulate on the grass its hard to believe that almost 1 year ago exactly we were in mexico sipping margaritas, and soaking up the sun to celebrate our 5 year anniversary!
While we weren't able to hit the beach this year, due to one very attached baby boy and our desire to save for a new house, I'm still so happy to be married to the man of my dreams! Steve is such a wonderful husband, not to mention father. And even though i never would have thought it possible 6 years ago I am more in love with Steve today than I've ever been! Here's to lucky number 6...

A few days ago I ran upstairs to change Quintan's diaper. Normally I can hear pretty well what Ethan is doing downstairs, but I noticed that it got really quiet and I started to get a little suspicious. Still, being in the middle of the diaper change I decided to finish the job before going down to see what Ethan was up to...

This is what I found.

Quintan's Baby Blessing

We had the wonderful opportunity of blessing our little baby boy, Quintan, this last weekend. We are grateful for all who came to join use; it was really awesome to have so many friends and family with us. (We really missed those of you who weren't able to attend.) Here are a few pictures of the special day!

Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderful Halloween from start to finish!
We kicked things off with a haunted breakfast
(french toast, peaches and whipped cream ghosts)
that Ethan devoured like a monster.

Later, 'Joe the Plumber ' joined us for some Skeleton Stew and helped us
get ready for a big night of trick or treating.

We were hoping that Quintan would make a gruff pirate face for the picture, but he decided to go with sweet and peaceful instead; he's the cutest little pirate I've ever seen!

Ethan must have learned early on about 'mans best friend' because again this year he wanted to dress as a dog... what can we say, he really loves dogs; and he makes a pretty adorable
puppy if you ask me.

We also enjoyed passing out candy to trick or treaters, dancing to some of our favorite Halloween hits to burn off the sugar high, and listening to Ethan tell us how much he loved his first
real Halloween.
I couldn't have asked for a better day.
Happy Halloween!!!

More Fall Fun

I mentioned that we went to the Scarecrow Festival a few posts ago but didn't have any pictures to go with it at the time because our camera has been freaking out lately and eating batteries like nothing (sooo annoying!), but thanks to Jenni and her reliable camera we were able to capture a few shots...

Here's Ethan climbing through the "gopans".And having a great time with his Aunt Jenni and Aunt Ashlee!

The following weekend we had a great time at the Poggio's Halloween Party. We also had better luck with the camera and were able to take a few more pictures (with brand new batteries in) but still by the end of the night the camera was acting up again!

So unfortunately we didn't get a shot of all the costumes (which I have to say were pretty impressive this year) : caveman and woman, an angle, and rabbit, batman, Teenage mutant Ninja turtle Tinkerbell, a dragon, and my personal favorite 'Joe the Plumber' played of course by my very own husband!

The food was delicious, the costumes were fun, and the company was fabulous! Thanks for hosting the party Lis!

In other happenings, we had a little extra time this morning so I decided to get crafty. ..Here's Ethan working on a windsock. He loves using stickers and especially glue sticks (which by the way got everywhere! but it was worth it )

After completing his first project he was asking if he could use his crayons and scissors. This is what we came up with...

Ethan is turning into quite the little artist don't you think?

Quintan was a great helper and enjoyed listening to Halloween music with us while we worked. He's such a happy little guy!

He's going on 11 weeks now and he smiles giggles and coos all the time
(when he's awake that is. He's been a big sleeper since day one)!
Gotta' love him!

Enjoying October

The first weekend in October brought several inches of snow and lots of fun! We could hardly wait to bundle up and get outside!

The snow was beautiful while it lasted but it didn't stay long.

Luckily things warmed up in time for some Halloween festivities. We went to a local pumpkin patch and we couldn't resist buying a pumpkin almost as big as Ethan! He was so proud of it.

We also had a great time at the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point with Jenni and Ashley and carved our pumpkins with family and friends at Paul and Kelsey's annual Fright Fest.(thanks for the fun!)
(And in case you can't tell from the picture, Steve tried to carve a portrait of Ethan into his pumpkin. He hopes to improve his carving skills for next year when he'll attempt a portrait of Quintan:))
